PureTNT 0
Today I tested the V1 (v1.8, firmware v3.7.8.9) against a Multanova 6F, inside a parked car. It was placed behind a bus stop on my right, invisible visually, right until I passed it. The V1 alerted me a good 200 meters before I reached the radar site, that was from the back. From the front the range was slightly over 400 meters, with lamp posts being the only obstacles in the way. Ich war sehr überrascht
Ali-Gator 0
Hi, the detecting range of an RD is depending on the enviroment. Things like weather, daytime and reflections are factors you have to deal with. The most important factor is, the reflection quality of the area in which the radartrap is located. In urban areas, parking cars on the side of the road t are quite good to reflect the signals. On federal roads or freeways the crash barriers are good sources for reflections too. But it's impossible to compare two different scenarios. For the V1, it's common to have a detecting range between 200 and 500 meters on KA-Band, but as I said before its depending on the scenario. PureTNT 0
I agree, it was an urban area with housing on both sides of the road, also with lots of cars. I have another observation concerning a Ramet radar system (Ka), performing surveillance 50 meters before a tunnel on an expressway. There´s a viaduct with concrete barriers on both sides (no metal) and then another 150 meters or so before you reach the radar. The road forms a right-hand turn and a good 200 (maybe 250) meters before the radar position it comes into view and only then does the V1 sound a Ka alert. And the weather has no effect on it. Ali-Gator 0
Well, you can compare radarwaves with lightwaves when it comes to reflections. Some surfaces like concrete have a better reflection quality than trees or bushes. Fog or high humidity also affect the range of radarwaves but you are right, these effects are quite little. Ali-Gator 0
What does your posting have to do with the original posting? Modifications of RD's is not the subject of this discussion. justme 0
Jungs, was ist los?
Just my 50 cents...
