Audi R8 "Blackbird" - Der Traum vom Radarforum :whistling:

It appears to be a liquid cooled mil radar jammer. These are not uncommonly operated at the 20,000watt level...

However a couple of problems.

1) There is a mil twist-loc power port on the machine... that is not connected.

2) the coolant lines are unreinforced vinyl... not likely to stay put.

3) there are air bubbles at the high points, which should not be there if this system was properly installed/running.

4) GREEN coolant in a brand new R8? I think nawt!

5) Oh yeah, most of these are still VERY classified.

Conclusion: Somebody grabbed an empty chassis and stuck it on there as a gag to look cool, counting on not running into anyone who has designed mil spec gear.

Interesting theories, however, a radar jammer is considerably smaller and wouldn't need liquid cooling.

1) Environmentally sealed mil-spec data port. Only used for adjustments and uploading settings. Power is fed by 7000 watt peak modified sinewave inverter. Power connections are not visible in this picture.

2) Coolant lines are low pressure UL 94 VO Rated ultra high purity perflouroalkoxy tubing with stainless steel quick disconnect bayonet fittings. Pressure tested up to 60 PSI at 300 degrees F. Maximum operating temp on unit is 190 degrees. PVC tubing is rated to 140 degrees max. PFA tubing is tested to -350°F to 500°F.

3) The unit is not powered up in this picture. For safety reasons, it is never operated while the vehicle is stationary or when people are in front of it. The bubbles are due to the fact that the unit is removed regularly for cleaning and adjustments. The air bubbles are bled off and cleared when the coolant pump begins to operate.

4) The liquid is tinted green and is low conductivity (0.36 micro Siemens). It is not anti-freeze. It is non-toxic and UV reactive.

5) On this point you are partly correct. This unit is not available to the public. It is not United States military technology and therefore does not fall under any military classification...yet.

I will neither deny nor confirm your conclusion in any public forum.

Was zur HÖLLE hat der da dran????

Einige Theorien:

1. They can be used to scare away animals and make humans feel uncomfortable at high frequencies. (This is probably not the case.)

2. The army and police have been testing these to make more effective alarm systems at low frequencies. If you are in front of a police car with one of these set to a low frequency, it shakes your car. (This is probably not the case.)

3. The most likely case because the owner of this car has been reported to have past military experience. In conjunction with a non-lethal weapons manufacturer, the army has been researching a sound device that can apparently make people either fall down, throw up uncontrollably, or be overcome with painful sound. (Researchers say the throw up part is highly exaggerated and would most likely not occur.)

Fand' ihn immer sehr sympathisch.
